There are a variety of trim options available on the 2012 Passat, but the base model comes equipped with a 2.5-liter, 170 horsepower engine, Bluetooth technology, and Climatronic dual-zone electronic climate control with pollen filter. The EPA estimates the new Passat earns 21 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the highway.
Other features that can be added include a 6-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic and Sport mode, 16" or 17” San Jose alloy wheels, driver and front passenger visor vanity mirrors (sliding, illuminated and with covers,) a rear center armrest with foldable storage compartment, a Touchscreen Premium VIII sound system, Sirius Satellite Radio with 3-month trial subscription, a 3-spoke leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, and a power tilting and sliding tinted sunroof.
